Classic French Press
What You Need:
- French Press
- Coffee Beans
- Water Heater
- Optional: Creamer and Sugar
Step 1: Beans
Grind coffee beans using your grinder at home. If you do not have a grinder, many local coffee shops sell coffee beans and will be more than happy to pre-grind them for you.
PRO TIP: For this recipe, do not grind you coffee beans too course and for the beans, for best results use fresh coffee with a medium to dark roast profile.
After grinding, weigh 18 grams of coffee (approximately 2 tablespoons).
Step 2: Brewing
Place your ground coffee in the French press and pour 250 grams of hot water (approximately 1 cup). Wait for 2 minutes.
Seasoned home brewers might wonder why we brew our coffee for 2 minutes only, compared to the usual 3-5 mins. We find that if we brew the coffee for a shorter period of time, we reduce the chances of burning the coffee and extracting unpleasant flavors from the product.
Step 3: You are Done!
Press the plunger and pour the brewed coffee in the cup.
Optional: Pour 2 sachets of your preferred creamer (around 15 grams) then add sugar.
